The bondage of the human race
You will serve the purpose of whatever you submit yourself to
People say the devil is very powerful, and I ask, if he’s as powerful as we think, do you think he would still leave any human being alive in this world?
Since, according to certain myths, he has a beef with God and he’s taking it out on man, then what stops him from annihilating all of mankind that’s still under his control?
For a long time before Christianity spread or even before people began to get serious with God, why didn’t the devil use those opportunities to extinguish a good portion of man?
Well, the answer is simple: he can’t. That’s because he doesn’t have such powers.
You may say, “But he causes great floods, natural disasters, and earthquakes, and a lot of people die!”
Well, we know that the earth today is undergoing decay and self-destruction. Many people and even science have depicted this fact in research and even movies—the extinction of the earth is what Interstellar is all about. It is not untrue to link certain natural disasters and mayhem to the fall of the earth—at least, that’s the only explanation that makes sense. The Bible also gives credence to that.
Accidents happen, and many lives are lost. Yes. But you must realize that in every accident or misfortune that led to the loss of lives and properties, there were humans, people, that “partnered” with the devil to perpetuate such things.
Nothing just happens, and we can’t leave all the blame to the devil, because you don’t walk out of your house and see the devil walking on the road causing evil; rather, you see his influence in the lives of people who have submitted themselves as instruments to him.
If the truck driver hadn’t drunk-driven, he would have stayed alert and not crushed those little schoolchildren. The truck didn’t leave the warehouse on its own accord and went on a killing spree. Someone willingly or unwillingly let themselves get drunk, and the devil used the occasion to wreak havoc.
Simple.
To whom you yield yourself, you become a servant of that thing.
Meaning, you will serve the purpose of whatever you submit yourself to.
All the wars that claimed many lives in history were not fought by spirits.
Men fought these wars.
Men killed themselves.
Evil exists in the heart of men because men gave themselves over to the devil to influence.
Adam did not fall through deception. He knew what he was doing. He rebelled willfully, as the scriptures say.
1 Timothy 2:14 (New International Version),
“And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.”
The devil is only as powerful as we humans permit him. Humans gave over their will to the devil through Adam, and till today, humans are still giving over their will to him.
This is the bondage of the human race today.
Only the man in Christ is free from the slavery Adam sold humanity into.
Humans are in charge of this world, but the rulership is divided into two: the humans after the order of Adam and the humans after the order of Christ.
So, till all of humanity awakens from the forgetfulness of who they are through Jesus, we will still allow the devil to run this world.
